As California prepares for the 2022-2023 school year, local health jurisdictions have identified K-12 as a specific concern for COVID-19 outbreaks. Leveraging real-world case studies, the training will provide learners an opportunity to critically analyze specific school-based scenarios and apply best practices to control spread of the virus.

In this training, you will learn:

  • Apply the PrISCM framework (Prevent, Identify, Define the Scope, Control, Monitor) to a school based outbreak
  • Identify strategies for outbreak reporting in the absence of mandatory case reporting
  • Recommend appropriate testing strategies for schools during an outbreak according to the severity of the outbreak and needs of the school population

Audience: This course is intended for Outbreak managers, disease control investigators, public health nurses, and people actively involved with outbreak management.
