New federal and state “Test to Treat” programs give people fast and easy access to lifesaving treatments for COVID-19. But disparities in access to treatments persist among some of the highest risk and highest need communities.
The goal of this training is to prepare local health department staff to inform and educate the public about resources available through California’s Test to Treat program.
In this training, you will learn to:
- Educate individuals about the safety, benefits, and availability of COVID-19 treatments through the Test to Treat Program.
- Recognize disparities in receiving COVID treatments among different populations in California.
- Support individuals to access COVID-19 treatment using the tools of health coaching.
- Schedule appointments using the Test to Treat site locator.
Audience: COVID-19 case investigators, contact tracers, and other non-medical communicable disease intervention staff of local health departments in California. Community-based partners working on public awareness and treatment access activities in the local health jurisdiction are also welcome.
